136. Laughlin Flinn Jr.

Came to Va. from Ireland abt. 1718, To Prince George Co, Later called Amelia Co. Court orders book of Amelia Co. Book 1, p.92, 15 Feb 1739 gave him 50 acres, of fathers estate. He was given land for the importation of Robert and Elizabeth Stoker. At one time laughlin Flinn owned land in PrinceGeorge, Amelia, Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg Counties some due to moving some due to changing county lines. Laughlin had four sons, James, George, John, Thomas. He left land to all. James and John served in the Va. Militia. John made sargent 1758. At death he left land to wife to divide to sons James and George. Equal to the summ I gave my sons John and Thomas Flinn. The remainder of estate to be divided between all his children. John and Thomas Exeketers (sp.) of will. Thomas let John handle everything. He died between 24 Sep 1758, when he wrote his will, and 1 May 1759, when it started probate.

137. Elizabeth Stoker

Another source has her as Wright.

185. Mary Polly Sikes

Cherokee Indian.

234. Johannes Fite

"Fite" is an Americanization of the German name "Vogt," meaning "bird". The two names sound alike.
He emigrated in 1749 & arrived on 28 Sep on "Ann", & then is supposed to have been married to Catharine, still in Sep. There are no single Catharines listed in the passenger list for the ship Johannes came over on; no Cunninghams either. I'm guessing they knew each other in Germany & Catharine came over first.

History of Albemarle County, Virgina, 1900 by Rev. Edgar Woods, p. 336-337: "Three brother name Wallace came to Virginia with Michael Woods as his sons in law, about 1724. They were Peter, Andrew and William. Peter married Martha Woods and settled in Rockbridge County. He was the father of Adam and Andrew Wallace, who displayed great gallantry in the battle of Guilford Courthouse; the latter yielding up his life on that field. The other brothers remained in Albemarle. Andrew Wallace married Margaret Woods. His home was near Ivey Depot, on part of the Charles Hudson entry, where Charles Harper after wards resided. He died in 1785."
