17. Rebecca Flynn
Father of her children was said to be a married neighbor, Thomas Hale [1790 NC- 1860 TN], son of John Hale.
Another source has her consorting with Cherokee boys - a possibility since her grand-mother (Rion) was Cherokee.
18. John Wyatt
John Wyatt, before leaving NC, lived at the intersection of Mud creek and Clear Creek. Most of this land now lies in Henderson Co NC with only a little in present day Buncombe County, NC.
John sold more land than he bought in Buncombe County, so some of it was likely deeded in one of the parent counties (Rutherford). Also of some interest is the June 28 1820 State of NC deed to John Wyatt of 100 acres on Mud Creek. Often such land was for military service, even though it is doubtful that, with his large family, he would have served in the War of 1812.
John's daughter Zilpha said her father left Buncombe County in 1826, for what is now Meigs County, Tennessee [then in the Cherokee Purchase], and indeed 100 acres are sold by John Wyatt on 18 August 1826 on Mud and Clear creeks. An Ashville will of Elijah Williamson mentions Wyatt's old boundary line and names as witnesses and hiers of the will people whom John Wyatt had sold land to, so they likely were all neighbors. Also mentioned is a number of people with the last name of Kinsey, which leads one to wonder if William Kinsey Wyatt was named after them?
In 1830 moved to Crossville, which then only had two families - Wm. Gibson & John Narramore.John Wyatt died at the home of his son-in-law Issac Fields.
Alt. spellings: Trambell; Trembell; Trammel.
20. James Brown
James Brown's family definetely came from North Carolina, in or around 1809, to the Sequatchie Valley. I have found somewhat of a link to a Smith family from North Carolina that married his daughter Sarah. Fenton Jackson is supposedly had been born in North Carolina right before they moved to Tennessee. (Information provided by Gina Walker)
1850 Fed Census for Morgan Co, TN lists James' family - has he & Joannah born in TNI think that James and Sarah Johanna Hayes are my third great grandparents through their son Fenton. My gggrandparents were Fenton and Eliza Ann Baker Brown from Cumberland County, TN. The prevailing opinion is that Fenton was the son of James and Sarah. However, James had a brother, Fenton Mosher Brown who was married to Sarah Johanna's sister Abbygail Hayes. There is some question as to hether Fenton and Abbygail also had a son named Fenton and, if they did, which Fenton was my ancestor. I can get together some information about the children of Fenton and Eliza. I am told that Sarah and Abbygail
were Cherokee. There are a lot of people trying to figure this family out and I'm sure you will hear from others more knowledgeable than I. Hopefully your post will shake out some new discussion.
Family legend says that Sarah may have been a Cherokee Indian or part Indian.
After their marriage the Narramores lived in that portion of BledsoeCo, TN that became Cumberland Co in 1856. They lived on the Obed River on the old Knoxville/Nashville Turnpike. This was near whereCrossville was later located as the county seat of Cumberland County. In the 1850 Bledsoe Census, they live next to Fielding's brother, James and his father and mother lived with James. Fielding was a leading influential citizen of Cumberland Co. from the time it was organized in 1856
until his death in 1886. He was chairman of the County Court many terms and was also Justice of the Peace for many years. The old family history says, "He gave counsel and advice on legal matters and county affairs, was forcible in public speech, and possessed the confidence and esteem of the citizens of the county". He lived near his parent’s old homestead and reared a family of seven daughters and one son. Six of his daughters named one of their sons, Fielding, showing their great respect for their father. The seventh daughter had no sons.

There is a stone for Levi Davidson located on Hwy 412 west of Linden TN with information: Levi Davidson 24 Sept 1799-9 Feb 1851. There is only one stone and no evidence of other graves.
Sarah Lamberson appears to be Levi's 3rd wife according to census records. In 1830, Levi appears to be a widower as there is no adult female listed. In 1840, there is a female age 20-30, which I believe to be Sarah Lamberson. Sarah is listed as wife in 1850, age 33, with several minor children beginning with Letsy, age 10. Levi Davidson was 50.
Levi in Perry Co, TN census for 1840/50From Ruth Kent <eruth@swbell.net>: "I still have not been able to identify any parents for Levi. I have possible clues to other siblings, but don't know for sure if they are connected. First, there is a Letsy Davidson who married David Bunch in Dickson Co., TN. Levi had property adjoining a David Bunch in Perry Co. There is a John Davidson Bunch (age 66) in Barry Co., Mo. in 1870 census. He had a daughter Letsa -- and may have been son of David Bunch and Letsy Davidson -- I don't know. But he appears in the same vicinity in Barry Co., Mo. with the other Davidsons who moved there about 1854. Second, a Mary Davidson married Joel Shelton also in Dickson Co. about 1812. Joel was a chain carrier on Levi's first survey of land in Perry Co. in 1824. Mary seems to be a sister of Josiah Davidson in Christian Co., Mo. who had signed as bondsman in the matter of Levi's estate. I have not had any success in connecting all of these together, but think it is possible that Levi, Letsy, Mary and Abraham are siblings. Their mother might have been Sarah who also had property adjoining Levi in Perry Co.
I think that the Abraham living next to Levi in the 1830 census might be a brother. Abraham has a female between 50-60 living with him in addition to a female 15-20. I think the older female is probably the mother and might be the Sarah Davidson who had a land entry next to Levi. In the 1840 census, there is a Sarah Davidson age 50-60 near to the Bunches and Sheltons who also adjoined Levi's property.15 Feb 1867. Deed Book B, McDonald Co. William Brown and Elizabeth his wife and John S. Brown and Mary his wife sell 90 acres land to John Packwood of Barry County and another 90 acres to Levi Davidson of McDonald Co. These tracts were the NE Quarter of Section 7, Twp 23 - Tom Comstock & William Randall, his brother-in-law had sold the SE Quarter of the same section.
1860 census of Barry County, MO: Sarah Davidson (born abt 1816), with children: Letsy, John, Levi, Thomas, Louisa, and Ann.
Posting by Ruth Kent : I'm looking for information on Levi Davidson who was born about 1800 and died 1853-54. He was married at least two times, possibly three times. At the time of his death he was married to Sarah Lamberson Davidson. He served as a surveyor/chain carrier, etc. in Perry Co in the mid 1820's and 1830's. He may have had a brother Abraham plus others I haven't been able to identify. After Levi's death, Sarah and her children (Letsy, Mary (Polly), John, Levi, Thomas, Nancy, Louise, Lucy and Ann) and step children, Abraham and Cyrus, came to Barry Co., Mo in 1854 where she petitioned to have Alvoree Davidson be guardian of her minor children in the estate of Levi. Abraham and Cyrus petitioned on their own for Alvoree to be guardian. Alvoree was living in Christian Co., Mo at the time he was appointed guardian. Josiah Davidson Sr. and Josiah Jr. signed the bond for Alvoree. Alvoree was married to Nancy Duncan and both he and Nancy died suddenly in 1864 in Christian Co. George Dabbs was appointed curator for Ann Davidson Patton to settle Levi's estate in 1869. The was settled in Barry Co., Mo. Can anyone help me with this puzzle. What was Alvoree's relation to Levi. Is there any record of Levi's first/second wive(s).12/02 Posting by Ruth Kent: I still have not been able to identify any parents for Levi.
